QT Melbourne awarded Hotel of the Year Designer hotel brand QT Hotels & Resorts flagship property, QT Melbourne has been recognised for its commitment to delivering the highest level of service at the inaugural Australian Travel Awards Saturday night, awarded Hotel of the Year.
Located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD with a striking façade designed by architect Angelo Candalepas, QT Melbourne boasts 188 unique guestrooms, industrial-inspired interior design by longstanding QT collaborators, designers Nic Graham and Shelley Indyk, and the playful tongue-in-cheek quirk you have come to expect at QT.
The Australian Travel Awards, organised by Travel Weekly, part of The Misfits Media Company, and presented in association with Seven West Media’s Better Homes and Gardens and 7Travel, is a new consumer and travel trade facing industry awards programme designed to celebrate companies, women and men that make up the Australian travel industry.
Attended by industry peers, the Australian Travel Awards are judged by more than 70 of Australia’s most experienced travel industry alumni and experts from the marketing sector.
The other hotels nominated in the awards lineup also included QT Sydney, QT Bondi, QT Gold Coast and QT Canberra. QT Melbourne’s hallmark is a series of high-energy restaurants, bars and shops, including The Cake Shop, a one stop coffee shop in the hotel’s lobby; the signature one-hat restaurant,
Pascale Bar & Grill; the in-house Japanese knife shop, Tanto; and The Rooftop at QT overlooking Melbourne’s city skyline. The hotel also features a world-class video art collection on display throughout the hotel’s public spaces, curated by renowned contemporary art curator Amanda Love.
Loved for its quirk, style and unique service culture, QT Hotels & Resorts has set a global standard as an experiential, design-led hotel since the launch of QT Gold Coast in 2011.
The unique and exciting property delivered the first injection of QT’s signature designer spaces with bold entertainment and intriguing yet relaxing guest experience. Now one of Australia and New Zealand’s most loved and dynamic hotel brands, the family of properties includes: the flagships of QT Melbourne and QT Sydney, in addition to QT Gold Coast, QT Perth, QT Falls Creek, QT Canberra, QT Bondi, QT Wellington and QT Queenstown. QT is set for further expansion with QT Auckland and QT Parramatta set to open in 2020.
