The Duchess of Cambridge has taken an adorable Christmas Day photo of Prince William kissing his youngest son Louis on the cheek.
The black and white picture shows the Duke of Cambridge along with the little prince as well as siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince George, who are looking towards the camera.
William wears a flat cap as he holds on closely to his son in the photo, which was taken by the duchess, a keen photographer, earlier this year in Norfolk.
Princess Charlotte also appears to be holding on to her younger brother as she stands behind him, while Prince George sits next to them in a chair as he cheekily smirks at the camera.
This is not the first time Kate, one of the world’s most photographed people, has gone behind the lens and released her own pictures.
The duchess was named as the new patron of the Royal Photographic Society earlier this year following her flourishing passion in photography.
A history of art graduate, the duchess has previously been praised for her photographic portraits of her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Kensington Palace has often published photos taken by Kate to mark milestones in her children’s lives, such as birthdays and first days at nursery.
The duchess began the tradition in 2015 when she took the first official portraits of Princess Charlotte, rather than hiring a photographer.
Shared on the Duke and Duchess’ official Instagram account at midnight, followers have gushed over the snap with several calling it “beautiful” and one praising Kate as a “very talented photographer”.
The Cambridges as well as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared their Christmas cards this week and they couldn’t be more different.
Harry and Meghan shared a cool black and white photo in which their adorable baby son Archie steals the show, while William and Kate went for a glossy holiday photo with their three children.
Body language expert Judi James says the marked difference between the two families’ cards shows a growing rift between them.
Rumours of a feud between them have been rife since Meghan and Harry married last year, with the family no longer working together under one foundation and the newlyweds moving away from their shared home of Kensington Palace.
They’re now spending Christmas in Toronto, Canada, with Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland and away from the royals at Sandringham.
Judi described the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s photo as “retro” and said it showed the huge differences between the two couples.
“In the Sussex’s pose Harry and Meghan sit like equals but in William’s card he is presented as very much the centre of the family while Kate stands indulgently beside him.
“It’s easy to see how this more traditional ‘line-up-with-eyes-to-camera’ shot would have found its way onto the Queen’s desk while Harry and Meghan’s adorably modern pose would be more likely to pop up in the pages of a glossy, high-class magazine.”
